Title: Ethereal (Celestra Series Book 1)
Author: Addison Moore
Genre: YA/Romance/Supernatural
Publication: Out Now
Summary: Sixteen year-old, Skyla Messenger is a dead girl walking.
When her newly remarried mother moves the family to Paragon Island, to a house that is rumored to be haunted, Skyla finds refuge in Logan Oliver, a boy who shares her unique ability to read minds.
Skyla discovers Logan holds the answers to the questions she’s been looking for, but Logan’s reluctance to give her the knowledge she desires leaves her believing Logan has a few secrets of his own.
Skyla’s bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in.
Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels wants her dead, at least she still has Logan, or does she?
Review: I had high expectations of this book but was left completely disappointed. At this point I can only hope to get that time spent reading this book back.
Skyla moves with her mom and step-dad to a new town with their now extended family. Skyla makes a new friend (who is her neighbor and this girl hooks up with her new step-brother). She meets two cousins that are super hot, Logan and Gabe Oliver, and she can't seem to stay away from either of them. Skyla discovers things about herself she did not know and discovers things about these boys she wishes she never learned.
Skyla tends to bounce between the boys; hellbent on making a decision about anything and leading anyone on that will follow her. She comes across very whiny and co-dependent and cannot be taken seriously. There's one chapter devoted to her traveling in seeing a girl, taking a neclace, bringing it back, stealing it, taking it back again and finally, returning it back (whew).
If I were to give this a star rating it wouldn't make a 1.
